The National SF4C Awards France honor innovative initiatives that advance sustainable, healthy, and inclusive school meals.

National SF4C Awards France – Celebrating Excellence in Sustainable School Food, the National SF4C Awards France will honor the most inspiring and transformative initiatives led by local authorities and associations committed to reshaping school food systems. These awards recognize those who are paving the way for a future where school meals are not only healthy and inclusive but also environmentally and socially sustainable.  Rooted in the principles of the School Food for Change (SF4C) project, this event highlights the efforts of cities, regions, and civil society organizations that are demonstrating how public food policies can be powerful drivers of change. By celebrating their achievements, the awards aim to inspire others, encourage knowledge exchange, and accelerate the shift toward school food systems that nourish both children and the planet.

The heart of the event will be the six finalists, each presenting their groundbreaking projects that exemplify bold leadership, innovation, and impact. Their stories will showcase practical solutions to the challenges of implementing sustainable school food policies, from procurement strategies to educational programs that engage students, teachers, and communities.

The ceremony will open with a brief introduction to the School Food for Change (SF4C) project and the objectives of the awards, setting the stage for an inspiring series of presentations. After hearing from the finalists, the winners will be announced, recognizing the most impactful initiatives that are setting new standards for sustainable school food.

By bringing these inspiring projects into the spotlight, the National SF4C Awards France reinforce the vital role of local governments and civil society in shaping the future of school meals. This event is more than a celebration—it is a call to action, empowering more cities, regions, and organizations to take bold steps in transforming food systems for the next generations.

La première édition du SF4C National Award touche à sa phase finale. Après la clôture de l’appel à candidatures le 20 avril 2025, le jury composée d’expert.e.s engagés dans la transformation des systèmes alimentaires publics, a soigneusement évalué les projets reçus. Cinq collectivités territoriales ont été retenues comme finalistes dans les différentes catégories du prix, et une association reconnue pour son engagement communautaire a été sélectionnée pour recevoir le Prix Spécial “Engagement communautaire”.

Le SF4C National Award, lancé dans le cadre du projet européen SchoolFood4Change (SF4C), vise à mettre en lumière les collectivités et les organisations de la société civile qui œuvrent activement pour transformer les systèmes alimentaires publics. Ce prix récompense les démarches exemplaires en matière d’approvisionnement durable, de nutrition, de gouvernance participative, de lutte contre le gaspillage alimentaire et d’éducation au goût. Il reflète la conviction que les cantines scolaires et les services de restauration collectifs peuvent être de véritables leviers de transition écologique, sociale et économique.

La cérémonie de remise des prix se tiendra le mercredi 4 juin 2025, de 11h à 12h30, dans le cadre prestigieux de l’Hôtel de Ville de Lyon, à l’occasion du Forum des agents de la restauration de la Ville de Lyon.
La cérémonie elle-même est officiellement accréditée comme événement partenaire de la Semaine Verte Européenne (EU Green Week), ce qui souligne son importance dans le paysage des politiques alimentaires durables.

Ce moment de célébration sera également l’occasion de promouvoir la diffusion des bonnes pratiques et d’inspirer d’autres territoires à agir. En récompensant celles et ceux qui osent repenser notre rapport à l’alimentation publique, le SF4C National Award contribue à ouvrir la voie vers un avenir plus sain, plus juste et plus durable.
